Handwoven Tarras Tweed Shepherds Plaid
A shepherds plaid or maud was a traditional wrap worn around midrif and shoulders to keep out the Scottish weather.
Woven by hand on one of our renovated 100 year old Hattersley treddle looms this wrap is approx, 9 ft x 30 inches and is constructed of a 2 ply Shetland wool yarn in our Elliott tartan colours. Ideal for ladies day or evening wear in cooler climes.

We are able to produce larger quantities of our tweed should you require them. Production time is normally in the region of 10-12 weeks from the date of confirmation of order.
Pieces will be approximately 150 cms in width and 60-65 metres in length.
The yarns used in the manufacture of these tweeds are melange and there is a variation in the actual shade from one lot to another. Whilst every effort is made to keep this shade difference to a minimum it cannot be guaranteed for mix and match purposes. Please discuss your individual requirements with us.
We make every effort to ensure that orders are despatched within 2 working days.
Tweeds are delivered by Royal Mail or if specially requested by courier at an additional charge.

These are made to order and we normally quote 7 days delivery.
These are delivered by courier as standard.
If you find the goods unsuitable or are not totally satisfied, providing you notify us within three working days of receipt by email and return the goods to us within 10 working days un-cut, in perfect condition, and where possible in their original packaging, we are happy to exchange or refund the value of the goods purchased. You will be required to arrange and pay for the return which should be well packed and clearly labelled enclosing your order details and sent to:

Once your returned items have been safely received we will inspect them and contact you with a view to arranging either a replacement or a refund. If we are agreed that it is our responsibility that the goods have had to be returned we will also refund the return postage.
It is your responsibility to obtain proof of postage as should a returned parcel become lost or damaged we do not compensate.
If exchanging goods and the value of the new item is less than the one you are returning, we will refund the difference. If the value of the new item is greater than that of the one you are returning, additional payment of the balance will be required.
